Shaking

In the mornings after drinking (early like 5 am), when I'm in that half asleep/half awake state, I swear I can feel myself shaking, but my husband has never said anything. Am I imagining things or is this a result of the alcohol? This is something that started happening about 4-5 months ago.

I myself had no idea what it was till i started researching alcohol withdrawel. I was flabergasted that i could finish up my boozefest at 12am pass out and by 5 or 6 am start having withdrawels / cravings for more. I had no idea i was that bad off. I just figured i drank to much or something oh wait I did that too.

I never thought you could have withdrawals that fast. I always thought it took a couple of days. Holy crap I have a lot to learn and a long way to go....

The shakes every morning until I had drunk again?!
Oh yes, I remember it well. I couldn't hold a cup of coffee in my hands most mornings. All gone now, thankfully.
I recommend going to see your doc to talk about how to withdraw from alcohol safely x

I remember waking up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding really bad. Like a panic attack, but I think it was the booze wearing off. That doesn't happen now.

Yes, I got the shakes BAD in the mornings. About 6 or 8 hours after my last drink the night before. I remember sitting at my desk at work shaking like a pathetic f***ing leaf. I once had to sign off on something and the mail guy asked if I was okay, because my hand was shaking so horribly. I've been asked if I was okay by 3-5 different people when I was pouring coffee into my mug.

Of course they would ask it like a joke. "you gotta lay off the crack, man, you are shaking like crazy...ha ha ha" I would laugh it off too. But thinking to myself "it's not crack you judgmental idiot, it was the bottle of Stoli I drank by myself last night"

It is good to be sober.

I get the shakes at around 5-6 am. Once I'm up and I down my pot of coffee I'm fine. Well, as fine as I can be.

For me, I find too much coffee triggers cravings for beer. I think it is because it makes me agitated and jittery.

Towards the end of my drinking everyday period I to would start feeling very shaky, jittery and lots of anxiety around 5-6 am..Many,many occasions I was drinking beer at 5:30 am in my garage, by 9am I'd be ready for a nap then back up at noon and drinking till I passed out for the night..Man,those were sad scary times looking back now..Shoot I had gave in and drank for the first time in months the other day and had anxiety the next day till about 8pm...

Yes - those horrible days when we're in withdrawal from a night of drinking, & the only thing that stopped the shakes for me was a 'hair of the dog'. Never again.

I experienced shaking in the morning near the end of my drinking career and found a way to make the shakes go away. I'd drink a beer or two.

Now I've found an even better way to make the shakes go away. I don't drink the night before.
