Does smart recovery cost money?
I have no experience myself but I noticed people have been asking the same kinds of questions here in our secular forum:

I'm a member of SMART and trained as a SMART recovery facilitator. (Facilitators are typically people who have recovered using SMART, although some are mental health professionals. Training consists of an interactive online program and is intended to make sure that everyone is familiar with all of the SMART tools and how to use them in a group setting.)
SMART Recovery is free, although, as with 12 step programs, a donation is requested to help defray costs and support the home office.
We have no restriction on group size but meetings tend to be smaller, 25 or less. The format works best that way.
To answer another question that comes up a lot--SMART is an abstinence based program.
I hope you'll try a few meetings and check back in to let us know what you think!
