Paid some bill and feel relieved

I woke up with massive anxiety today. As I stated in another thread, I have bills piling up and was just avoiding them. Today I decided to stop being a baby and open some. Biggest and happiest surprise of my life! My bill from 2 nights in the hospital last month (non drinking related btw) had been reduced from nearly $9,000 to $50!!! I feel so grateful right now. After that, I felt even more confident to open bill number 2. It was also not as bad as I thought and tho usually I would have put it aside, I felt so good that I paid that mo fo right there.
I have to learn to confront problems and not try to escape them. Alcohol is such a bitch for that! And as I saw today, those problems are probably not as mountainous as they first seem. I still have the biggie, student loans to pay, and I have a LOT. But I feel better and am actively going to begin to pay those off, even if its just a little at a time.

The interest on student loans is very low...
so chipping away with those is an excellent plan...

Good to know you are continueing to move forward...

Sometimes what we fear isn't as bad as we think it is. I know I always seem to think the worst outcome in most unpleasant situations. I think that has to do with my depression though, in addition, to the addiction.
