Have you noticed how happy they seem to be now that you are sober? My dog and cat are beaming. They get my attention all the time, it's weird, but I think they know.

We had to put our dog of 13 years down the day after I got out of detox. She had been so sick, and I promised her I'd be there with her at the end. I whispered it to her many times. Going into detox was unexpected, and it was this exact week she took a final nose dive with her health. They would not release me so that I could be with her. It was agony. But she held on (barely)....she waited for me. And I was there with her.....oh yes Elisabeth.....for sure they know. .... Fast forward 17 months and I have a brand new puppy that only knows the sober me. That makes me very happy
