Yes...this really can be your beginning of a sober future...
Do you have a plan in mind for how to accomplish this goal?
Forward is always the correct direction...all my best as you move on.

Congratulations on your decision.
Everyone here has had a day one. I have had many.
I do really hope this is your last day one. Things only get worse with alcohol. Make it stick. Do what you have to.
Best to you, and keep us posted.

Wake up and ask your Higher power to help you remain sober for just today. When you go to bed and have remained sober Be sure to Thank him for helping you. Tommorrow repeat that process again 1 day at a time do this. Minutes turn into hours hours to days days to weeks weeks to months months to years etc..
you can do it!

For starters I just want to get back to some sobriety and see where the next few days take me.
I'm still sort of stunned at how quickly all my old habits started to come back. Now I have the old cravings again but I will look past them and get to tomorrow.

I was usually okay on my many day 1's. Looking back I probably still had booze in my system from the day before. Day 2 was when the insomnia, sever anxiety/paranoia, numbness ect.... was felt.
