Have To See A New Doctor---

Well today I saw my psych Dr. and it runs out she is retiring. I have one more appointment & then will have to see a new Dr. She had close to 30yrs of experience & I really liked her. She always listened to me. She did not make a huge deal of my 1 day slip & said I should still be proud of myself. My concern is the new Dr. will not prescribe my "emergency meds" for anxiety. I'm not sure if I should have her make a note on my last visit stating I don't abuse them & require them for breakthrough anxiety???

Definitely talk to your current dr about it. Best wishes!

legitamate concern i'd say. I've needed pain meds in the past for wtvr and no one ever would give me anything worthwhile. They'd tell me sorry aleve is the best we can do while i'm in excrutiating pain. So when I delt with extreme anxiety and such i said whats the use the wont give me anything worth while anyhow.

Your records will be given to the new doctor so shee/he will be
aware of what you take and why.

however...bringing this up to your current doctor sure won't hurt.
Who knows how this change will work out?

Hope for the best without expectations Just....

A doctor that knows you have a history of alcohol abuse will not prescribe Xanax or Valium in many cases, and for good reason. You may find a doctor that will write you an Rx for almost anything you want,it depends on their ethics.

That is entirely not true. I have a mental health issue not related to alcoholism.
