Going to my first meeting
I've decided to do it. It starts in an hour and fifteen. Yup, literally counting the minutes. I'm not completely sold on some of it but from what I understand the 12 steps can be life changing if I let them. I need life changing. I've gone back and fourth on this for a few days and I am putting it out here because if I tell someone else I am going to do something, I have to do it. I'm a little (lots) scared, nervous, etc. but it certainly can't hurt and I don't think anyone will tie me to a chair and throw bibles at me. I don't have to stay if I don't want to but maybe I will. I need life changing. Wish me luck.
Ive only stopped a couple days ago and have been considering this, too, for some time. I understand tippy feeling nervous but you'll do it! Yay for you! Hope it goes well!
*tippy should be to be. Danged phone!

I too was nervous when I went to my first AA meeting...and I asked
a friend to come with me. Many people do that...it's ok...
Good to know you are willing to explore the possibilities ..AA certainly has
proven to be a life changeing experience for me.
I'm so glad I committed ..100% to the program.
Yes...the Steps are the program..

lmao, awuh1! All in all, it went really well! I feel better than I have in days, really. I live in a very urban area so it was a very mixed bag but everyone was really nice and friendly and willing to answer the newbies questions after the meeting. I will definitely be going back and I am glad I went. Maybe this isn't so horrible after all?

Well done GB, your new life is on the way! And thanks for sharing your experience. It really brightens my day when someone takes up the same wonderful opportunity that was given to me.

If you let someone show you what it says to do in that book...You can have a life you never dreamed of. Someone told me that. I had to do it to find out if it was true or not. Keep coming back...Find out for yourself. You can't honestly do those steps and not change.
