Hypnotherapy (hypnosis)
Has anyone tried hypnosis to stop drinking? I know it has been used for other addictions (nicotine, food, etc) but haven't heard of it used for drinking.
I would certainly think there still needs to be a willingness necessary for success and maybe other coping mechanisms. So perhaps hypnosis coupled with other techniques or programs in conjunction that didn't work by themselves for reinforcement.
Anyone with experience or knowledge of this?

I know of no one who has gone through hypnosis to recover from addiction. If it was successful I'm sure we'd all know about it and AA and drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers would go out of business.
Myself, I'd be cautious, as this seems an area rife with charlatans.
Why do you ask? Are you struggling with traditional recovery methods?
