Is this consider Binge drinking

If someone wakes up in the morning and takes a shot or two and then three hours later, they take another two or three or more shot and then in the afternoon another shoot and then the evening, another shot and then at night two or three more shots.

No, that is active drinking, probably alcoholism. Binge drinkers can go days, weeks, or sometimes even months without drinking, but when they start, they don't stop until they are hammered, and it can continue for days or even weeks.

What Suki said about binge drinking.

Does this person do this every day? Are you really in a position to know he/she is drinking this amount and not more? In any case this is alcoholism IMHO and this person will likely need medical help to detox. I know I did.

Sounds like a plateau drinker. I always wanted to be one of those but I lacked the neccesary control. Plateau drinking is one of the patterns we alcoholics can have. Binge and closet drinking are others.

When I was doing daily drinking...i considered it active addiction.
I use AA for my successful recovery...no more alcohol for me...

Is alcohol interfering with the life you want to live?

If you marked yes, you have an alcohol problem. If the answer is no then carry on.

The amount of alcohol is not the issue as much as the answer to the question.

Frequency of consumption and amount are simply statistics and seem to be the area most folks who suspect, or know that they have a drinking problem want to discuss debate and even justify.

People who do not find alcohol to be a limiting factor to their lives don’t raise the question.

This is just my observations. I myself do not have an alcohol problem as long as I don’t drink.

I thought binge drinking was when a person drinks 10 units and over in one session

Whatever you call it it sure doesn't sound healthy.
