Right?!?!?! :crazy But like you, I have found myself thinking the exact same thoughts many times and it always ends up in a bigger disaster. I am on day 8 too, the weekend is here, and that voice isn't far off in the distance but I'm determined to beat its @ss. Hope you do too!

MG hang in there. Don't know if this will help but a friend lent me some movies to watch (it's Friday night here) and I ate more than my far share of ice cream (saw this advice on another thread). It's getting late and the massive urge to drink tonight has passed so it looks like I'll be waking up happily sober again tomorrow

Thanks GT! I just finished a massive bowl of Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and refrained from going out 'shopping'. Looks like I'll be waking up sober too

This morning I woke up feeling amazing. I managed to muster up the courage to keep walking on by the liquor store and into the art store where I bought a canvas. Last night was spent having a great time working on a new painting. Sober!

I'm feeling pretty damn proud of myself today.

Have a great (and sober) weekend one and all!
Well done with your demonstration to not let alcohol ruin your day. It is a good feeling to keep nurturing that you have the ability to take back the control alcohol had over you in the past. Now you can choose heather things to do instead ruining your health with drink.

Keep up the good work! I love doing artsy stuff too.

It's day 13. Tomorrow will be two weeks sober. It's been a long time since I've been this calm and had such piece of mind.

You must feel so good, I know I do. I actually thought of you this weekend, and hoped that you were doing OK. In a strange way, it helped me to stay sober, so thank you!

Congratulations on your sober time.

Now go back and read your first post you made on this thread. I've found that when things start going well it's easy to forget how bad they were. I need to remind myself I'm an alcoholic, lest I forget.
