Asked for help from God today, and got it.

Woke up today, sick again, heart pounding, sweaty, shaking. Unable to even get out of my bed. Spewing vomit over the side of my bed.

Spent about an hour just laying there trying to get myself together, just enough to go down to the bathroom.

Collapsed and hit head, out cold.. Woke up covered in own urine, shaking, and sweating.

Unable to get up or move much. Luckily, I had my cell phone in my pocket.

Call 911 and explain, 3 minutes later my house is flooded with fire fights, medics, and cops..

They get my pathetic looking ass into the ambulance, and off we go tot he hospital.

Of course I lied about all my symptoms and was very general.

Wasn't until I was in the room alone with the Dr, and gave me that "soo, whats up" look..

Alcohol withdrawal, took some blood, ran a few tests. Gave me an Ativan dose, and waited.

Tells me my liver is inflamed and I have Hep C, and another few months of drinking might have started cirrhosis.

So this is where my last bender has taken me.

Safe to say my new sober date is 4/20/2012, and it is set in stone!

That resolution coupled with a solid recovery program should yield great results.

All the best.

I'm really glad you had your cell phone with you...and that that Dr pushed a little more...

My turning point was much like yours - 5 years on, I've never regretted making it stick...I know you won't either

Sounds like quite the wakeup call. Glad you are okay and are ready to work on your sobriety. Just keep chiseling this date deeper and deeper into that stone.

Thanks for all the support guys..

Just resting for a few more days. They sent me home with a good prescription for Ativan.

Taking it as instructed, I feel good. But still a little hazy, and definately wobbly, with balance issues. Just started eating again today.

Sleeping is still strage, wake up a lot hearing things and sweating.

Starting counseling and IOP next week, hopefully.

Thanks all

Wow, what a wake up call. The sober journey must begin somewhere and I hope it happens for you, starting today. Welcome...
