Good test ... Sober at "the old ball game"..

Had a great time at a baseball game last night even though it was a loss for my home team, a few of the typical people that used to trigger me into drinking were there as well. I was not tempted by the beer even with the free and very salty bag of chips I got (I should've picked the BBQ flavor), those Limon chips were like 600mg sodium per serving. Lots of people were drinking casually but it didn't bother me, was very easy to shift focus back to the game and other fans just drinking soda like me.
Got a new (retro) Jersey and a cap to match, which was expensive, but I figured 'why not' get something nice that will last and support the team with $$$ from something other than alcohol sales and me ending up looking\acting\feeling like an idiot. Driving home without a buzz and not stopping at the first beer store to load-up felt awesome as well.
Overall, a great evening for a game... Heck it felt great just to get out of the house for a few hours.

Awesome! I just read a story in the big book about a woman going to a hockey game while not drinking and not enjoying the game. I did the same thing before I figured it all out. I went to a hockey game with a non drinker, and sat there and milked one beer for the entire game. It sucked. i was more focused on why we weren't drinking than the game. I'm happy to report, I have since gone to sporting events without drinking and really enjoyed it!
