Our area (AA) has alkathons on xmas eve, xmas day, new years eve, and new years day. Basically, we have meetings all day and into the night (until midnight on new years eve and day). I'm going for 4 hours tomorrow.

And I have a prior commitment today (xmas eve). Going to s/o's mother's house for xmas eve dinner and presents.

Humbug!

There is going to be drinking there, but I've prepared myself. IF I have too many cravings or feel unsafe, my s/o has said that we can leave early.

The alkathon would have been more fun!!

Leaving early is a good plan. Hanging around drinkers is a pire bore anyway. If you wear your Humbug scowl it might keep them at bay.

Carol...... I just got back and didn't have too much problems. Actually, I didn't have any problems.

Niner......... now that its over, wish me a good time! That's it for xmas for me (looking forward to the alkathon tomorrow).

Enjoy the Alkathon. For a couple years I would chair a table during the early, early hours, and I always enjoyed it.

Its a good way to spend some holiday time.
