Anyone with peptic ulcers have them worsen after quitting?
I was diagnosed w/ a peptic ulcer a while back when I was drinking, though I didn't know I had one (it was discovered during an endoscopy for other reasons). Never hardly felt it before.
Now that I've quit drinking, I'm actually experiencing symptoms consistent with the ulcer I have.
I know there are plenty of other potential causes for my stomach pain. In particular my diet has radically changed. But has anyone else experienced increased ulcer pain after quitting booze?

You aren't numbing yourself, of course you will "feel" things more than you had; there's nothing to numb it with. Drinking allowed us not to feel what was going on in our bodies.
I refused meds after a car accident (I hate pills, um, thanks, Mom!) but I did drink to numb the physical pain....2 years later when I stopped drinking, I still had pain from that accident (plus some other pain I hadn't noticed before).
See your doctor for an evaluation!
