St. Patrick's Day

Hey guys,

I'm sure if you're anything like your facebook feeds are overloaded right now with a whole punch of people posting pictures of green beer, whiskey and getting drunk at 9am.

On the count of three, everybody all together:

1

2

3

F*ck that noise!

Much happier to be spending today sober and clearheaded.

Even when I drank St. Patrick's Day in New York was disgusting. Lots of people from Long Island and New Jersey pour in to get stinking drunk. To me the day is the smell of vomit and drunks staggering down the street.

There was nothing special about St Patty's day when I was drinking, so there definitely isn't one now.. Everyday was a all day drinking fest for me..

I'm having a hard time with St. Patrick's day too. Everyone around me in my neighborhood is drinking and having fun. I feel left out, I want alcohol it's so tempting. It's so hard today.

Think about other things you like to do pinkgurl - go for a walk, or engage in some hobbies, go rent some DVDs or something?

St Paddy's Day was nothing special for me either..I drank EVERY SINGLE DAY! Probably used St Paddy's day drink festivities as a way to feel like a "normie". eye roll lol
I am finding solice in knowing I will wake up tomorrow bright eyed and bushy

Gonzo I will still use your invite as an excuse to scream
We will make it safely and sober here on SR

Hey Pinkgurl,
You can still celebrate without drinking, why not watch a movie like "Gangs of New York", "In America" or "Angela's Ashes" - all of which are about the history of Irish immigrants. That way you can feel superior too compared to people who think that St. Patrick's Day is about green cupcakes and pinching people

And of course you could eat some corned beef and cabbage, when we were growing up in my family we'd have it with green Sprite. Totally recovery friendly!
