1 Month Sober and Still Thirsty?

I am almost 1 month sober after 15+ years of moderate to heavy drinking and I'm still constantly thirsty. I drink a lot of water and a little low cal Gatorade. I purchased a blood glucose monitor to make sure it wasn't a diabetic thirst. The only study I can find on this suggests that hormonal imbalances including AVP and ANP may affect alcoholics indefinitely.

Please share your experience. How long did your thirst last?

Thank you.

Welcome Sober Rec

Although I often had to have a drink near me, I think it was psychological - I wasn't especially thirsty, so I have no experience to share.

Have you seen a Dr ? there could be any number or reasons for this..

Welcome to SR!

I'm sober 10+ months and still drink tea and coffee like a madman. It may be a little annoying to you, but hey, at least you're well hydrated!
