around the time when I decided to quit I had been drinking because of depression (the drinking only made things 100x worse though). I guess the main reason why I drank was because I loved getting wasted/high. weed was my DOC before I slipped into alcoholism and I tried to use booze to self medicate the same way I did with weed before I stopped smoking. I also drank to relieve social anxiety/awkwardness, I'm a fairly introverted/reserved person most of the time and getting drunk made me less afraid to be talkative.
