do whatever it takes to be the person you know that you are. Alcohol might make you believe that you are something special, but you are really special without alcohol. I haven't been able to make the change, but I don't have anything but admiration for those who do........

Hmmm. You're drunk and on the computer... and the computer is the problem?
I know what you mean, though. I remember drinking by myself, and spending hours at a time surfing the web, listening to music and watching videos. I would find all kinds of resonance in songs and movies, feel all kinds of deep emotions. But deep down I knew it was fake emotion, felt by someone faking his way through life. I was emotionally empty, and needed songs and videos to fill the void.
Reality is so much better. Real joy, even real sadness, all caused by real events in my very real life.

I'm feeling okay. I didn't drink that much. No hangover. Just keeping an eye on my usage cuz the last thing I want to do is struggle with the bottle likemive seen some others do. I may or may not be an alcoholic, but I'll go ahead and call myself one just in case. And oh yeah: I'm off the stuff till next weekend. Holding myself to it. I'll check back in and report whether it worked.

Er ... I think you might have answered your own question in that statement. Which is why drinking again under any circumstances is insane. Just sayin' ....

if this thread is any indication of what alcohol does for you, you might want to reconsider that plan Jauburn.
