Give us your list

What are the things you like best about recovering? Here's my list:

1. More energy every day.
2. Less fogginess.
3. More peacefulness inside.
4. More time (less time I spend rushing home to drink).
5. Watching my personality re-emerge.

I've reached a point in my recovery where:
1. I've regained a level of self-respect;
2. I've regained a level of trust from others;
3. I've proven to myself that I can face everyday life sober, as long as I choose to do so;
4. Life is still life, but I enjoy it more now that I don't have the effects of active alcoholism to deal with.

1) It's easier to choose positive ways to deal with life, since the negative one's are off the table.

2) Saves time, energy and money for the things that bring me joy

3) Don't have to be ashamed of myself and hide or cover up behavior or the results of behavior

4) I don't feel ashamed of myself to myself anymore
