One of my old childhood friends found her mother dead yesterday, she walked in and found her on the floor with some empty bottles and pills all over the place.

This makes me sad, because I have known this woman since I was a baby, her daughter and I grew up together and I can even remember being a small child she always had a drink in her hand or something else.

It is true what they say, eventually it will all catch up to you and kill you.

I'm not terribly sad, because I have not seen my friend in over 10 years and I have not seen her mother since I was a child but it does make me feel bad inside.

However on the other hand this also motivates me even more to stay sober.

I'm sorry to hear of your sad news and hope your friend is bearing up as well as can be expected in the circumstances.

It is scary also to think that could be us in years to come if we did not stop

Yeah, I mean I always knew this woman would end up in some way like this, but now that is has happened it's just sad. And we really can't help those who don't want help so that is what makes it so sad.

I'm doing okay, like I said I haven't seen her in years, so we weren't very close. It is just one of those things where it opens your eyes to what could be. It makes me so glad that I am stopping at my young age so that this doesn't happen to me in the future.
