A guy I work with, I guess it would make him my sponsor anyway, he is the one who took me to that meeting and i talk to him (mostly texting) every day and he keeps me out of trouble.

Well done - that took a lot of courage.

I strongly suggest you get a female sponsor. There is nothing wrong with using him as support, but the nature of the sponsor/sponsee relationship is different. This requires that you are brutally honest with yourself and your sponsor, and this type of honesty can carry over into a different type of intimacy when we are dealing with the opposite sex. This was noticed since the early days of AA.

This guy is like a big brother to me. (plus i have a very loving, supporting boyfriend)

I feel like i need to get to know more of the women first, see i have a trust issue. I need to really know someone before i can share things with them. I do hope to make many sober friends in AA and I am attending some of the women only meetings as well.

After 3 months it felt like "home". I still get that awesome feeling in meetings.

I hope to feel like that soon, i really do want to make sober friends. i'm also interested in some of the social activities that some of the groups offer, like they have dances and fun things.
