I'm so sorry about your situation Elisabeth...it is very eye opening. So many people do not realize the horror of death via alcoholism, or just alcoholism in general. Very sad , yet a reason to stay sober.

Such an incredibly sad story Elisabeth, for your cousin to be in that state at only 41 when she should be enjoying life really makes you wonder why many of us did the things we did. There's always hope that she'll see the light and turn it all around before she passes the point of no return. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Elisabeth888, so sorry for you and your family, sending prayers your way. Thank you for sharing because reading your post even solidifies that alcoholism is such a horrible, controlling, deadlly disease! Take care

Prayers out to you, your cousin & her family. What a sad way to go, hopefully a struggling alcoholic will read this & make the decision to stop drinking. Stories like this may also benefit the newcomers section where many are struggling with the thought of still being able to drink even though they are alcoholics.

Take care & all of the best

She started throwing up blood last night and then proceeded to bleed out of every orifice of her body. I have read that liver failure is a long painful death but never heard these horrific details,

My uncle said that as they were trying put her on the gurney and she was throwing up blood, she was trying to drink a beer.

This disease wants us dead. I tell y'all this to get it off my chest but also because it is a grim possible reality that is out there for us alcoholics.
Sorry for your loss. We hope this could be a good lesson to all other people out there who still cannot get rid of drinking beer and still cannot escape it.
