You need to take a look at step one from the big book and also read the doctors opinion where you are powerless over you addiction and that the first thing you need to do is crush the idea that you can ever have a drink again. Until you do that you won't stay stopped. You need to get into an AA group, find a sponsor and start working the steps. It is the only way you can stay stopped. It has been proven over and over again. This twelve step progam has never failed for the people who will go to any lengths to stay stopped.

Hi All,

I just got home from 10 days in Mexico by myself. That is a tough country not to drink in. I did drink once but did not get wasted. The way things have been going I don't feel that bad. However, I realize it is not enough. Maybe I will check out some mtgs. I am hesitant though. I'm not much of a "group" person.

Thanks for all the wonderful support.

hug and support

hurting, i feel your pain but don't let it erode all of what you have worked so hard to accomplish. If you went bankrupt after years of wealth...would you give up on life or would you fight like hell to regain your footing? Accept what is and continue with your journey along the path you want to travel, we are all here for you and although it may seem trite in saying this, but 11 years sober when I am still contemplating quitting? you are my hero and heroes do hurt, fail and fall but the true hero rises again to the battle ahead. You know you can and you will!
