I was sober this Christmas! Were you?
YES! Sober and enjoying my coffee and looking forward to eatin' some good food today... figuring out how to work my new phone, which is much smarter than I am.

Definitely. What a great feeling it is. I've been waking up and feeling fine for a time now and it means so much this morning, Christmas with both my son & daughter visiting. I'm loving it. This is sooooooooo much better.
Sober! Really just wanting the holidays to be past though. I know we're supposed to be all happy & grateful at Christmastime, but I just want to be done with this time of year I am very thankful for my sobriety It is the best thing ever.

Christmas morning here...waking up sober . Excited to see my family and plow through some food!!! I lasted the last 116 days so I think I'll be going to bed sober tonight, too!! happy holidays SR!!
Sober, and wonder of wonders, everyone had just as much enjoyment of the family gathering last nite (MORE) without the alcohol. I haven't had as enjoyable a get together in a long time! Christmas Joy to all!
This is my second sober Christmas... and how wonderful it is. Husband is depressed and having trouble with his sleeping hours, so I went to a 7pm Christmas Eve church service. I'm glad I went. I came home, and he was just stirring so we opened gifts...
There was not much to open but I for one am grateful for everything else in our lives: Our home, which is experiencing its first Christmas with us, is truly a miracle. We never thought we would be homeowners again, and yet here we are.
We have four furry children who are the epitome of perfection. They think that either they are small furry people with a speech impediment, or that we are large bald cats. Either way, they complete our family and we are lucky to have them.
I have fellowship both in and out of my AA group. I have people who will be there for me and I for them, at a moment's notice. I'm as eager to see my AA "peeps" today as I am the rest of my family.
Merry Christmas to you all... may your Christmases all be sober and bright!

Yes! First one in many years. It is great. Made it through a trip from GA to FL to visit inlaws that drink and was not even tempted.
I did pray and read my BB and call other alcoholics and even made a meeting.

Getting out of the hell of opiates.
I'm about to start the detox process, and have been tapering down for a couple of weeks. I have read almost all the posts on detox of opiates, and to hear these posts are a great insperation. Thanks to all for all your help.
