I dont do sport, but I love swimming in the sea, and walking on our local cliff tops in Cornwall. I like reading, writing, drawing and painting, theatre and comedy. I would like gardening if i wasn't so bad at it!

I completed my first two sprint tri's this past summer. UGH, If they had a Super-Clydesdale class, I would have been in it. However, even at 275 I did not come in last. I crushed on the bike...
Way to go!!!!! I started with sprints in the Athena group....and kinda lived thru the bike to swim and run....now doing Olympic distance in age group (tri training takes the weight right off ya!) and loving the bike as much if not more than the run!!!! You should be way proud of yourself....the first tri is a major accomplishment....after that, you are a certified glutton for punishment and an amazing athlete!!!!

Not to hijack your thread FmcF, but we have a daily support thread on the other side of SR for folks that believe that fitness, health and nutrition goes hand in hand with sobriety.

I like hiking, mountain bike riding (as long as it's pretty vanilla), have two cats, earned a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award in Toastmasters, and write a spirituality blog. When I'm starved for excersise in the late winter, I put on my poser-logger-wear and do some trail maintenance.
That's just for starters.

I'm a journalist who specialized in travel. I've been to meetings all over the globe, meetings on cruise ships.

I like to write, and should write more often. In fact, part of my new recovery plan/schedule that I want to implement in 2012 (after I get back from holiday vacation!) is to write consistently. I enjoy writing (and reading) short stories, memoir, and the occasional novel.

I also like to run and ski and work out... and also need to do more of the latter as part of my recovery program and new goals. I love animals and I have three pets.

For you century riders, if you want a little adventure/vacation in the summer, I would suggest RAGBRAI. I've done every year since I started seriously cycling at 18. Largest touring ride in the world, 10,000 people, about 500 miles over 1 week across the entire state. Pack a tent.

I have 3 Godsons. Have lived on 3 continents, am sleeping with 3 dogs tonight, was born in the 3rd month and I am just about to get my 3 rd car (in this life...not in my garage) an orange Wrangler Unlimited with a manual transmission.

PurpleCat, hanging sheetrock is for people who could never decide what to do with their lives. Merry Christmas.

I ran my first marathon this summer (4 months after I quit drinking). I did it in 3 hours and 27 minutes - a time that I'm proud of.

I think I've just recently developed allergies at the age of 43. Worse yet, the main irritant seems to be my 13 year old Labrador Retriever.
