Duh - what was I thinking?
Duh - what was I thinking?
On my 2nd attempt of sobriety - day 6. I stupidly decided that along with quitting drinking I am also going to stop taking my anti-anxiety meds. Decided to halve my dose for the last 5 days. I thought I was going to die today. Shaking, brain zaps, nausea, etc. I was on my treadmill and thought I was about to passout, so I got off. I looked up withdrawl from my meds and sure enough it is big time withdrawl. So, I took the full dosage.
It's been about 2 hours now and I am finally calming down and the shaking has stopped. That was not fun at all.
I think I will just concentrate on not drinking alcohol and worry about the meds at a later time.
Apparantly, I am not superwoman

When or if you stop any medication you should speak with your Doctor first. The withdrawal can be serious, as you found out. Happy your feeling better. lol Superwoman was funny.
Congratulations on 6 days!!
Best Wishes To You!

One thing at a time.
Talk to your doctor and they will likely set up a plan to slowly wean you off the meds i.e. smaller doses, taking pills every other day, etc. Also, does your doctor know you are also quitting booze?
