i can't usually eat the first few days, but if i do it's bites of banana or toast with ginger ale....oh, and popsicles. i can't do caffeine the first week. i guess it depends how bad withdrawal is.

DrivenHeart85 11-13-2011 08:31 PM

Orange juice! It gives me my sugar fix and I figure that's healthier than chocolate or cheesecake. lol

Gatorade and facial moisturizer. god i hate the dried cracked painful skin cuts at the corners of my nose, only got it when stopping drinking. Only time i ever used moistuizer.

Taking5 11-13-2011 10:46 PM

Gatorade. I couldn't eat for 4 days.

Zanthos 11-13-2011 11:45 PM

Food. Lots of food.

midgetcop 11-14-2011 12:19 AM

During past withdrawal stints I'd drink a TON of pop. This time 'round, I'm actually trying not to load up on as much sugar, so I've been drinking a lot of tea.

But yeah. I'm generally much more interested in food when I'm not drinking. :herewego

COOKIES!!!!! That or chocolate or anything sweet. Now I'm finally getting over the extreme need for sugar

PaperDolls 11-14-2011 07:11 AM

AA meetings.

Coffee. I've always enjoyed it in the mornings, but now I drink it non stop all day and night. I chug lots of water, but coffee gives me the replacement glass in my hand that I sip throughout the day. I know coffee is an addiction in itself, but far better than alcohol. Once I get through this fight, maybe I'll take on the caffeine monster next! ;)

I drank a lot of water and tried to eat healthy. I'm grateful for this thread though, makes me think of how horrific that first week was and how I don't ever want to feel like that again!!

heathersweeds 11-14-2011 08:22 AM

Had a giant size bag of peanut M&Ms allthe time! I still drink alot of diet coke but try to get a lot of water in everyday.

bozboz 11-14-2011 09:35 AM

Thai food. Green curry, and chicken panang. I'm beyond addicted to both.

GregMan 11-14-2011 12:10 PM

Cases of sparkling water, Egg drop and Wonton soup takeout from the local Chinese restaurant (Can't eat solid food for a couple days), Chamolile tea, 2 lorazapams (perscribed from the doc) a day the first 3-4 days.

Miela 11-14-2011 02:22 PM

Couldn't get enough sweets - lollipops, candy bars - and I normally don't even eat sweets. :) The obsession faded after awhile.
