You didn't let us down. We've all been there. Not too many of us have tried to get sober and been successful from the start. Many of us need help with this.

I use a program of recovery because I want to take the path of least resistance by nature and don't want to have to keep coming up with solutions on my own that don't work anyway.

Hang in there.

Much love.

You just said it in your own post. Get into contact with your own local AA.

Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) Great Britain

0845 769 7555

That seems to be the number (I hope US person here).

And remember - More alcohol will not help the problem.

I got sober in AA when my kids were 3yrs and 8 months old. Can say it made a huge difference for all of us to raise them while in my right mind.

Its all good Dawnie

Dont give up Dawnie, everybody here is rootin for you. I too am suffering from depression, nausea, anxiety, or whatever, cant really identify it. I was talking with an AA member and it was explained that because I am now starting to have other emotions besides anger, I dont know how to "feel", dont know how to respond to myself.
I'm sober for 1 year 4 months, nad today 46 days straigh, "no crack". I've gotta find something to do with myself, goota get moving.
Keep talking here Dawnie, I believe it helps me.
Have a good day.

Many stumble on the way to being truly sober. Some stumble many times including myself.

Do not get lost in self-hate. Remember that you are alive, your kids are there with you, and you are richly blessed with possibilities, all of you.

Hold them close and take one step toward a better future: AA is a Godsend in this way, and there are other ways but none so free and open IME.

Cook up a nice meal for your little ones and yourself. Eat it together. One baby step at a time, life will show you the way.

Best wishes!!! Keep it simple.

Sometimes I feel like I'm in a race and get impatient I want it to happen there and then,, but I know things like this take time and that I have to take one step at a time I wish life was different for the better for my children

You don't have to say a word if you don't want to. And you can probably call the number another poster gave you before Monday. I think they man the phones over the weekend and evenings too. Someone will be able to tell you where a meeting is. It's worth a try when your options seem limited.

Take care.

I dont know if AA do home visits, i've certainly not heard of it.

If you want to call though, no need to wait until Monday, there's usually someone on the other end of the line. Even if you just want to have a little chat.
