Don't let a crummy relationship sink your recovery. If you drink everytime your boyfriend is a jerk, you'll never get sober. Stay sober, ride out your emotions (a lot of which has to do with being in early recovery) and get better. Your kids need you sober. You need you sober!

Good luck.

Hi Dawnie,

Sorry to hear that you've been drinking. Perhaps, tomorrow you could make a list of your triggers that lead to drinking. You might also try to come up with other ways to soothe or nuture yourself in trigger situations.

Take care of yourself and don't give up!

my wife is from NY city. alot of new yorkers are famous for having hot tempers. she yells sometimes and dosen't even realize it. early on, it was really annoying because i was thin skinned as it was.

maybe just remind him that you're fragile right now and for him to mind his manners.
hope you feel better soon.

Dawn - triggers

Yes, I would make up a list of triggers, they suggested that when I was in rehab.

Hope you do better,

Kelly

Dawnie, you can get back that great attitude you had. Come on, try again. Nothing is made better by drinking - you need a clear head to figure things out. You can do it, and have a better life.

So your boyfriend makes you feel like crap, and then you drink which will probably make you feel like crap. Think of that logic.

The bf one? I'm not sure on the policies here, but you could always ask one of the site team Dee or Anna, perhaps they could answer it for you.

Hi Dawnie,
I'm on day 4 here.
Just keep reminding yourself that your worst day sober is always better than your best day drinking.
You can do it!
