You're doing so well already, sweetheart. And look at that angel in your arms to help you see everyday what you're not missing with alcohol.

I think you are so smart at such a youthful age to see the wisdom in your good choice.

You should be so proud of yourself, I am.

Early recovery was a real emotional rollercoaster for me Dawnie - I was up one minute and really down the next - it's pretty common in the beginning.

I hope you'll feel better again soon

Congrats on 4 days, and your son is adorable!

Things started really improving for me around 90-120 days, the first month was by far the worst, then I seem to have "bad days" from time to time but they are becoming more and more infrequent. I'm at 6 months now.

Stay sober, it's hard but it's 10 times better than being a drunk. Best wishes in your recovery!

Hi Dawnie. What you're feeling is completely normal. I went through the highs & lows, too. It lasted a few months & finally settled down.

Beautiful picture - you and baby are adorable.

(((Dawnie)))

It takes time to get well from alcohol and/or drugs. Treat it as if you have the flu and take as much down time that you can with four children! anyway. Don't be afraid to ask for assistance around you, help from others....take a nap if and when you can when your kids go down. Eat well. And when you have an urge to have a drink, eat a handful of nuts or some protein of some kind. Fill your stomach up. I ate alot of fried eggs and whole wheat toast, for instance, when I was in early recovery. I thought I might start clucking! But I didn't.

Keep up the excellent work. Sobriety is work in the beginning, but it does get easier and easier as you create new and better habits.

Kiss the babies! Lucky you...

hugs,
s.e.a.
