Day 26 Frustrated, but moving along.

+8 on the mental disfunction meter today.
Woke up feeling hungover, guess I slept too much. Then got dragged down into the typical mental hell for about three hours. Having arguments out loud to thin air, figments of my addicted mind.. Oh yeah, That kinda crazy. "You feel bad? ... Have a drink, just one." , Darn voice, I'm stronger than you!! (I didn't let it make me want to drink, I knew, even though I was very crazy at the time that it would pass.)

Dunked my head in ice water (... not sure why, but it seemed to help), then talked with an AA friend and got busy with things around the house, that brought me back down to Earth. An hour later I made a grocery list and went shopping, sent 30 minutes in the store and didn't give one thought about buying beer. Crazy old brain.

Anyway I'm feeling good now, guess I just needed to type somethin'.

Good for you for not giving in to temptation. I'm glad your sobriety is progressing well. Keep on keepin' on.

When I get out of sorts and want to start my day over...
I pray The Serenity Prayer for calming down.
It works if you say it aloud or silently....and sometimes it takes a lot of repeating.....

For awhile I could not remember it ..so I carried around a copy.....

The Serenity Prayer

.God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Good to know things turned around for yoou...
