First DWI in MN - Impact on career and immigration status

Hello,

I am working in MN and was recently charged with a 4th deg DWI(first misdemeanor). I am a successful engineering professional but this has cast a huge doubt on my career and immigration(I am from Asia).

Does anyone know what impact a DWI has on both career growth in corporate USA, how it can affect job applications in the future and application for citizenship. How do I tackle this situation? Your frank feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome bluemile

I'm not an American so I simply have no idea.
Others may have some leads for you though

What are you doing to prevent a second from happening? Or hurting you or a stranger?

I live in WA St.
A guy from Africa in my AA group on friday was talking about how his application for citizenship in the U.S was denied because of a DWI, and he'll probably have to return home... very sad story because he is a really nice guy and knows how wrong he was to drink and drive. Such a shame, there are so many other much more deserving people of being deported from this country than him.
