movies, tv shows, tv movies

are there any good recovery movies, tv shows, tv movies out there?

I'm in the mood for watching a movie, but i really would love it to be....well, recovery related.

i can't watch Intervention anymore - i want to watch a little bit of recovery. I almost wish that Bill W Lifetime movie was available on pay per view!

I sometimes watch documentaries at Top Documentary films

There looks to be a few there about alcohol and other drugs:

Someone started a thread last week about "Days of Wine and Roses", with Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick. Oldie but goodie. It's 95% active alcoholism, 5% recovery, but worth watching I think. Lemmon was phenomenal in it (as usual).

"Another Year"---film by Mike Leigh, 2010.

Interesting movie with two alcoholic characters. Well done, and very sad. Quite thought-provoking and a good antidote to films where drinking looks stylish or glamorous. Ought to be required after wataching shows like Cougar Town where they are drinking from fishbowls!

I recently watched the 2008 movie "Julia" with Tilda Swinton. It's about a 40-something active alcoholic and reminded me of all the crazy, stupid, selfish decisions I made while drinking.
