speaker tapes

Hi all,

I just bumped up a thread in a different section but wanted to ask for help in case anyone has anything to add:

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...istory-aa.html

I'm trying to find recommendations for speakers to find online (i use aaspeakers.org)

i'd really prefer to listen to a female tonight, and for some reason i have a strong desire to hear a female from a long time ago - are there any tapes like that?

I don't know if they're on aaspeakers.org (I use their podcast too) but check XA-speakers as well for:
Theresa F (Fair) from CA
Mabel (don't remember her last name) from Canada (she's awesome)
and there's a talk somewhere on the MarkHoustonRecovery site by a lady named Layla who will blow your socks off.

I download podcasts from XA speakers. This week I listened to two good women speakers - Lizz H from New York and Nicola K from Dusseldorf. Excellent speakers and good quality recordings.

I just stumbled across this suggestion in the 12-Step forums as well (I haven't heard it yet):
XA-Speakers - The lights are on!

Here's a good one. It was her first Talk after the death of her hubby. She passed away in February of '99. She was my sponsor and he was also:

XA-Speakers - The lights are on!

I still hear them both in my head many times, or when I am pondering something. They have stuck with me for over 30 years.

Love and hugs,

I'm uploading another Theresa F. talk - one she did here in Michigan at the Mich Tri-County Conference on Friday - 10-1-2010. If anyone wants it, shoot me a PM and I'll send you the links (there are 13 "tracks" to this on so you'll have to do all 13 downloads to get the whole talk.

I have listened to dozens of the speakers over there, both AA and Alanon.

I just found one of Hugh D's talks. He was the husband of my sponsor and was my co sponsor. Yep, he's the one who had the reputation of:

"doing brain surgery with a meat cleaver." But in reality was not only a big teddy bear, but was very instrumental in helping me to again find sanity. He minced no words with me, told me what I 'needed' to hear and not what I wanted to hear:

XA-Speakers - The lights are on!

Maybe he might help someone here.

Love and hugs,

I listened to Layla N of Toronto. OMG, she is like Chris R in his early days.

Not that that's a bad thing. Just a shock compared to those with a temporized message.
