The 3s
Hi All,
It's three weeks for this girl today!
I couldn't wait to post this. What is it with the 3s?
I've heard it said in other addiction circles that the toughest times are 3 days, 3 weeks and 3 months. Anyone found this to be true for quitting alcohol?
I'm doing great so far today - but it's 7am LOL. Slight trigger potential on the horizon this evening - seeing my bf for the first time since I quit and we always used to drink together. But I'm feeling strong about it.
Thanks, everyone, for the support you've given me so far!
BB

Personally, I tune out anything and everything coming out of recovery circles that promotes, or even suggests, the further use of alcohol or drugs (ie, "relapse"). 3s fits the bill.

There were 3 replies to your thread when I read it. Hmmm.......I hadn't heard about the 3's before but I knew an oldtimer who on days when chips were given out would tell the person receiving the chip that it was the most dangerous time. He was just joking but his words have stuck with me over the years.
Congrats on 3 weeks. :-)
