books

Does anyone have any book titles that will help prepare us for what to expect the first year of recovery? Something that addresses both the physical and mental would be great.

Thanks!

This is exactly what you are asking for... except it also goes into the second year as well... but it does emphasize the first year...

I liked it, though I didn't agree with everything they said... my wife (normie) hated it, I think because it was written by the same people who wrote the "What to Expect when you're Expecting" books and it was fairly incongruous for her... LOL

Check it out.

Amazon.com: The Recovery Book (0019628030849): Arlene Eisenberg, Howard Eisenberg, Al J. Mooney: Books

I don't want to anticipate anything. I want to live it! At 94 days, WOW!

I agree that the “Big Book” and “The twelve and twelve” are great reads for that. I’d also recommend “Under the Influence”

I’ve ready “Dry” and “A million little pieces” recently. Does anyone know of any books along those lines of inspirational stories about conquering addiction?

I liked "Drunkard: A Hard-Drinking Life" by Neil Steinberg. Well-written and honest (he's a journalist).

Thanks for the suggestions. Through an amazon search I found something called "don't let the bastards get you down" has anyone read it?
