38 Days. It's been 38 days without any alcohol, and I feel my limits being pushed every single day. Headaches, urges, and short fused temper. Does it ever subside? |
what are you doing about it? |
Welcome.....:wavey: It took me about 2 months to feel back in balance mentally and physically. I had been drinking for many years tho and I was 53 so I did not expect quick healing. I was doing positive things..eating healthy...drinking plenty of water..walking often... attending AA daily. I do think all those helped with the cravings....:yup: Please do keep posting....sobreity is just such a wonderful way to live give your self every chance to enjoy your journey....:yup: |
Glad to see you here isaacovation, & congratulations on your 38 days. We understand what you're going through. I was a lifelong drinker & it took about 3 mos. for the clouds to lift. I didn't have a very good attitude when I first stopped - was filled with resentment. I also wasn't under a dr's care, which would've helped. The negative feelings faded away, though - and slowly I felt myself come out into the sunshine. It still gets a little better each day. Reading other's stories & experiences really calmed me down & gave me hope. Maybe being here will help you feel less anxious. Congratulations on wanting a better life - you can do this. |

For me, working a program has really helped as well. |
Do you feel you are missing out by not drinking ? If not, in my experience it will settle |
