It's Almost Time For The NFL, & Beer Commercials...
The disclaimer at the end of the commercial... "Drink Responsibly". Yeah, whatever that means!
Beer and liquor companies do a great job romanticizing the drink and making consuming them seem carefree and fun. For us alcoholics, that is obviously just not the case. We were their biggest customers. They never show fatal car accidents, cirrhohcis of the liver, DUIs, jail, insanity, etc.

The play of the Redskins the past few season is more likely to tempt me to drink than the beer commercials..
Enjoy the season, enjoy the Grilling and make something special for you as your new Football tradition. Fried Turkey (Is amazing) one week, grill a whole small pig the next, have a shrimp boil, there are so many other ways to reward yourself for what you have accomplished and for the love of football and Sunday Fundays!!!

You've gotten some great advice already so I'll just say I've been thinking about this a bit lately, too, as we just got our tickets for the home opener. That's gonna be one long tailgate party. Maybe I'll actually eat food this year. Go Lions! ROOOAAARRR!!
Over the years, I've grown into a pretty strong willed guy. It's odd that most family & friends expected me to be the unreliable black sheep of the family, but as I got older I evolved into the one who took care of my family. How ironic, the unpredictable impulsive alcoholic turned into the rational, mentally stable alcoholic (isn't that an oxymoron). I was confident I could deal with the booze commercials, but wasn't sure. With all the great advice & support I've gotten, I'm 100% sure I'll be able to deal with it... okay, 92% sure. I watched my first pre-season game last night I was okay with the "cool, crisp, clean" ads. Thanks for all the replies & your support guys & gals.
