mini relapse

I'm on day 14 sober, 2 weeks, and for some stupid reason I wanted a few beers...

so I drank 4 bottles of beer today, and feeling not one bit better for it now.

I just feel worse now than before I had them and it's been 4 hours since I finished them.

I guess I had to just try it one more time, stupid I know.

It might be good for you to figure out what the stupid reason was, awareness is a real key. Well tomorrow can always be day one. Best wishes.

HS....
Many of us had false starts before we found solid sobriety I'm glad you stopped quickly.

Think of it as a learning experience and move on just like your doing. Like Carol said we've all had false starts. Tomorrow is a brand new day.

Best Wishes To You!

You just reinforced what I had been thinking for the last month. If I did have a drink, the guilt would last far longer than any pleasure I got from it. Sounds like we both learned a lesson from your mini relapse. : )

Pick yourself up, dust yourself down, get back on your bike and start peddeling again one day you will stay in the saddle and it will be wonderful. Keep at it, just a wobble. Good luck

did it give you what you expected or did it backfire? If it did not help you then drinking may no longer be an option.

Don't beat your self up about it. I have been struggling with the same thing. I tell myself that tomorrow is a new day and I need to try harder and figure out what I will do differently next time. I try to think of why I did it and try to relearn a new way to deal with what ever the reason was I drank.

Thank you for sharing. I have relapses in my history also...but we never have to go back out. Don't take the first drink...think the drink thru to the consequences...keep posting...and take it one day at a time. Glad you are here.

Yeah, I've given up the idea of every enjoying a drink again. Too much guilt, frustration (plus the knowledge that I haven't enjoyed stopping at just one drink for years).

The good news? Once I accepted that, it made it a lot easier to say no. It's hard to miss something you don't really enjoy.

Sounds like maybe it was a valuable lesson. Tomorrow's a new day!

The reason is you're an alcoholic, now don't do that again.
