Fourth time
Fourth time
attempting to get sober. 15-16 coors lights a day for years and I think I'm finally done. (hope). I skipped my usual stopping by the store routine for beer and cigarettes today and took some klonopin (prescribed for my last attempt) to get ahead of any withdrawl symptoms and I know that I can't mix them so here I go on my journey of getting sober. I have a rough schedule and can't make it to meetings (kids, work, wife works late) etc.. Are there AA meetings online, hopefully on this site? I refuse to be a dry drunk and would like to learn a little bit about my disease and work some steps plus, there is NO way I can do this alone. I always got stuck on step 2, lack of spirituality but I need some form of it to beat this monster. Thanks for listening.

I california guy! Yes there are meetings online. I think you can get to them through the alcaholics annonymous website. If not just google AA meetings!
I think a lot of people stop at step 2. My online sponser does not think I am ready for step 2 yet and neither do I, I guess! Would be great to have a higher power in my life again though!
Take care

there is a recovery meeting here in the Chat tonight...I think it is at 9 EST
I think it's open to anyone interested in recovery...not only AA
I've used Pal Talk and AA On Line in the past ..they have many meetings Google for info
Yes... you too can win over alcohol...

Do try to get some face to face meetings also. Nothing is more important than recovery. If you don't recover you'll lose the kids and the job and all that anyway. Maybe take some vacation time? Or, take the time you used to spend drinking and go to meetings instead?
Good luck.

Day 2, not the best sleep and woke up on a pool of sweat but even with that, it sure as hell beats a hangover. For the first time, I am really positive about living a sober life. I think I'm seeing the light, one day at a time.
