Give up entertainment for sobriety?
Hi Burn to Build
Welcome to SR...I had to choose between my musical career and my sobriety, at least initially.
I tried but I couldn't be a non drinker in my old drinking haunts with my old drinking buds...not without some sober time behind me.
I took some time off, and I still consider that a great investment

My quitting the booze is going to be something strange to people in the scene since i'm renown for my alcohol consumption. I just know that some will do their best to try to get me drinking just to show that i'm "the same as usual, stinking drunk and still going strong."
I'll admit, i had some really great times when we all were drunk as hell, playing and partying hard. I've been to many gigs where i can guarantee you, not a single person there, band(s) or crowd was sober. Everyone was drunk or high on something. Years later, i marvel at how some bands were able to rip out killer sounds despite the fact that they were all blind drunk or stoned out of their minds.
