If your an alcoholic there is no such thing as social drinking.
A social drinker will stop when they start to feel the affects of alcohol.......
Alcoholics are the extreme opposite.

Mars to Earth, Mars to Earth

As has been mentioned at many of my recent AA meetings.

We alcoholics are Martians, addicted to booze.

Earthlings are residents of Earth who aren't addicted.

Don't confuse the two.

Social drinking is no longer an option for me.

I have proven this to myself over and over and over again.

Once I start, I don't know what will happen.

It may last just one night. It may go into the next day. It may last 3 days, a week perhaps.

I may miss work. I may drive drunk. I may not see my son.

I don't know what will happen once I start.

For me, since I am an alcoholic, social drinking is not an option.

In the past when I have tried moderation or social drinking, my whole life becomes obsessed with alcohol , it just keeps the hungry beast inside me alive screaming that he has only had 3 beers or you cannot leave me starving till you have a drink next weekend, it really is death by a thousand cuts , for someone with a drink problem.

I either drink and drink when I want and how much I can sneak in/hide etc and suffer all the pain and agony that goes with it or I do not drink at all..ever.

I tried moderating for years and recorded how much I was drinking. If I lost count I would give an estimate. It was torture i don't recommend moderation for binge drinkers or problem drinkers.
