I crawled around on plenty of bottoms, rock or otherwise. Nothing changed until I was ready to change. Then when that time came I developed an addiction treatment plan from information that I found useful and relevant to me particularly. Nothing like having a plan crafted to fit me personally but also practical and easy to follow.
I'm don't think it is possible to predict if someone will drink again. I agree with what others say about there being many 'bottoms'.
About telling someone else they need to stop to be in a relationship with you, it is okay to set that boundary. I stopped for 16 years because my husband freaked about my drinking. I initially stopped for him, but eventually for myself.
I hope Alanon is helping.
