Joined SR 2 years ago

As the title says I first joined Sober Recovery on May 11, 2009. The two years have not been perfect, I've had a few slips, but I'm in a much better place than I was two years ago. I would like to thank all the folks on SR, who have been a part of my recovery process. Hopefully through my own posts maybe I've helped a couple of people myself.

Hi mentioned about 2 slips. Would you
like to share what happened before during and after
your slips? Allowing others to know what happened
will better help them if they should feel a slip coming

Sharing your own experiences, strengths and hopes with
others will also be positive in your own recovery.

It has been inspiring to "see" the changes in your life these past years. Thank you for
being here with us and showing us that we truly can be happy, joyous and free!

In response to the question about how ths "slips" occured my answer would be that I wasn't working any program. I just stopped drinking, period. Prior to the spring of 2009 I had been sober since 12/31/03, a little over 5 years. I did that without a program, but I'm not really sure how. Prior to that I was a daily drinker for a long time.

What has kept me sober this time around, besides the obvious fact of not drinking, has been making changes in me, with AA. I hope to continue to be sober for the rest of my life, one day at a time.
