Hi Gaz-
I'm about 17'ish months sober, so I haven't even been sober long enough to relate, but...
I can assure you that you're not the only one.
I know in AA, we have the obession to drink removed and it stays removed as long as we work our program.

In 1979 I got out of treatment and refused AA. Two other guys got out at the same time and continued with AA, they never drank again. I relapsed after a few months. A year later I swallowed my pride, ignorance and arrogance, and went to AA. I never drank again. Out of our group we were the only ones who went to AA, and we all recovered.

Yup. I was sober 5 years and decided to return to drinking, which I did for quite a while. Coming up on 1.5 years sober again. Best advice I can offer is to learn from your mistake, and allow that help you avoid the same moving forward.
Relapsing believe is a good thing. Do not look at it in a bad way. A relapse is a chance for you to learn why things will not be better if you drink again. Learn from your relapse experience and apply it to your sobriety today. You have a head full of AA/sobriety and a belly full of booze. Get rid of the belly fully of booze and put your mind full of AA/sobriety to good use.
