Going on a date

Well, it will be the first date with a girl since I gave up booze (2 years) and I'm a bit nervous. I'm holding on to "what will be will be", but any advice to prevent "what could be won't because you arsed it up" would be appreciated

Sounds to me like you eradicated the clearest and most present danger two years ago.

Enjoy your date. Hope she's worthy of someone who's been to hell and back.

Where are you going?

I'm asking because since I quit drinking....movies work
really well. No booze served,,snacks to fill up on
a few hours w/o conversation ...then you can talk
about the film......

Relax and enjoy.....

Good luck on your date. I've been married a long time so I don't have a clue how to date anymore. Let us know how it works out.

Thanks all Yeah, as I said I'm really holding on to the "what will be will be", and not projecting or worrying, it's been a while though

We're going for dinner which should be fine, the movie idea is good actually, should of thought of that

Congrats my friend. My advice is to keep the conversation light and don't take anything too seriously before, during or after the date. Good call on the dinner date. Movie dates are OK but in my opinion it's best to have at least a few "active" dates in first (i.e. face to face conversation dates rather than sitting in chair staring at a screen for a couple hours). Best of luck!

Cheers all, well thought I'd give you an update post date

It was good, I enjoyed myself, I should be seeing the lady in question again, and it was just nice. I really need to sort out my energy, I was way too tired by the end, but other than that it was really pleasant, wish I had of done it a year ago, but I didn't so best not to go down the regrets route
