Second Chance and Taking It!

I had a follow-up visit at my doctors yesterday - the results of my tests were in. My bloodpressure is back to normal...YIPPEE! I don't need to go on meds for that. All my heart tests came back normal. Everything came back normal.

I was very worried that I had done some permanent damage. Back in Feb. I was a mess. Terrible anxiety, high BP, pounding heart and just felt totally lousy.

I feel I've been given a 2nd chance and I never want to be back in the horrible place I was.

Things are so much better now. I feel like a million bucks. I have lost around 10 pounds and am toning up by regular workouts. My skin is clear and my mind has clarity.

I didn't realize how very sick I was until I started to recover. 2nd chances should not be wasted - I've only 1 life.

To reward myself I bought a lovely summer dress. Now - I just need a place to wear it :-)

Thankyou, Opivotal.

I think I rock the dress ;-) I look in the mirror and now see an attractive 50 something instead of a dumpy hag.

I just collected all my old wine and beer bottles to take to the recycle place (we get money back) and it's a good thing I have this nasty cold and cannot smell anything - I won't have to endure smelling the odour while I drive to the place. In the past, I would have taken the recyle money and bought another bottle. This time I'll just put it into my wallet (since I already bought the dress yesterday).

Once I get my sense of smell and taste back, I will make a fabulous meal and dessert, since I am dying to try out the new cookbook I bought yesterday called "Eat, Shrink, and be Merry".

Love this! Congrats! Enjoy your sobriety. It truly is a gift from God to an alcoholic.
