drinking alot

When it comes to drinking, I have to drink at least a 3 litre bottle of cider or 6 big cans of beer or if i'm drinking wine a bottle and a half.

So I'm just thinking you have to drink alot of fluids to get drunk, that in it's self makes you feel sick...
I'm tired of necking a 3 litre bottle of cider

If only there was a good drug that you only had to take a couple hits like marijuana..

And why not just do no drugs and learn to appreciate life sober?

I use to think I was like my grandfather who could
drink and never get drunk. Or I could drink anyone
under the table. It was like I was immuned to it with
very little side affects.

That went on for awhile, till alcohol stopped working
for me. I was when I began to do things that were
questionable. Like, why did I want to stay out even
after the bar closed down. Or why was I driving up
the ramp of the interstate going the wrong way. Or,
why Id say im not gonna drink anymore after I hit a
concrete culvert sitting on top the ground landing in the
hospital for 10 days to only return back to the same
night club a few months later doing the same thing.
Then I couldnt do it anymore and just wanted to die.

That was 20 yrs ago when my family stepped in with an
intervention sending me to rehab where I spent 28 days
recieving the tools and knowledge of my alcoholism and
set on the path of recovery learning to live a day at a time
without drinking.

Life today is absolutely awesome only because I did the
footwork that was suggested to me to do just by living
and incorperating the steps of recovery in my everyday life
and to share my own experiences, strengths and hopes
of what life was like before during and after alcohol.

It can be for you too.

Your Drinking

You're drinking to get drunk and that's a good indicator that you're at least an alcohol abuser. There are NO substitutes that won't put you in a more dire situation (I did extensive research on this, trust me).
Man oh man, a jug of anything must send you to the loo a lot!
Best of luck to you!

Hi Hendrix-

Why do you drink if you don't like it?

It must be doing something for you. For me, drinking was my life. I lived in bars, lived in the drug scene and loved every minute of it, except for the hangovers, the consequences, the pain. Oh. The pain. Easy to forget about that even just until the next drunk, right? ...but then days, weeks, months, years go by and you're still drinking.

Is it really worth it?

Do you want to quit? I'd start there.

Kjell~

I'm not really drinking much at the moment, although I have not quit entirely,

I want to quit completely and I don't think it will be that difficult as I'm not physically addicted to alcohol....it's just a mental thing.

I'm just an occasional (1-2 times a week) abuser I suppose, so I will try tomorrow to stop completely.

Give it a try, but just be advised that quitting on your own with no help has kind of a low rate of success. Don't be afraid to ask for help...
