having a hard time but still sober
having a hard time but still sober
Hi, I have not posted much lately. Mostly things were going well.
But the last few weeks have been very hard- due to past childhood trauma and healing from that. My thoughts around alcohol are not so good- like doubting if it would be a big deal to drink- even though I usually love being sober. And thinking that it is not fair or kind to go through the next few days sober and aware. Just want next week or next month to come quickly.
I need to run to a support meeting that I like a lot. And I see my therapist later today. It will get easier; it has to.

I am proud that you are addressing the issues you need to. That is such a brave thing to do even though difficult.
My friend has a sign that says, "When you find yourself in Hell, just keep going". It's been helpful when doing my own work with my past. May the worst of it pass for you soon. It always does as long as we don't drink over it. Drinking only prolongs the agony and/or to makes things so much worse but you probably know that already.
Hang in there. Good to see you posting again.
Much love.

I really hope you will feel better soon. Just focus on the good things that are happening. And drinking will definitly not help you go forward, it will return you to the past and as for me I am glad I do not have to go back to my drinking self........
There are good days and bad days, now at least I feel before good days or bad days nothing mattered to me as long as I had booze with me
