Question

Why is it that when you drink and wake up the next morning (all hungover) that you feel so tired but yet at the same time you can't sleep? Ya know what I mean? It's like you don't get good quality sleep when you pass out drunk and then the next day I used to be all tired, but for whatever reason can't sleep....It was such a horrible feeling.

I guess it's anxiety...maybe. Anyone have an explanation? Thanks.

I don't. Have the answer....I assumed it was because my body was so poisoned it didn't know what to do.

I read an article on it once and it has something to do with alcohol disrupting REM sleep patterns, hence making booze induced sleep not as efficient as normal sleep.

Ugh you know I was just thinking about that feeling this morning. It just felt like anxiety to me.

Being unconscious from alcohol is not sleeping....simple.
Think alcohol induced coma...not sleeping.

Drinking a toxic liquid disrupts all sorts of brain and body functions

I'm so glad I quit killing myself with alcohol

Re:Question

It might be anxiety...or maybe not. I would seek help from a qualified professional if it continues.

Hi DWD. I always thought it was alcohol withdrawal-induced anxiety. The only way I would be able to get back to sleep was to take anti-anxiety medications (abusing them, not mine) so I'm pretty sure for me that was it.
